What I Do
Writing
- Much of my time is spent writing (whether articles, novels, or outlines of ideas).
Photography/Videography - In my free time (what free time?), I do photography and videography. My photography is done with a disgustingly expensive Nikon D80, fitted with a
disgustingly expensive lens and wireless flashes. My videography is done with a JVC Everio HD7-Don't-Buy-One that I missed the store's return deadline on. (it was part of a bad factory run, so I learned, but JVC profitably decided not to do a recall, so that people could suffer, while they maximized their comfort)
Game
Design - Making video games is a favorite task that, contrary to popular belief,
requires lots of thought.
Computer Graphics - For 2D, I use Photoshop
(since version 4), a Wacom Graphire 4 tablet for digital
painting, and paper for drawins/sketches.
For 3D, I use 3d Studio Max. It's awesome, so ask your
doctor if 3d Studio Max is right for you.
Sound
Design
- I use Adobe Audition for most of my sound, and advocate the belief that great sound in
games/movies/etc can be more
powerful than the best visuals. (if I had to choose between super awesome visuals with "good enough" sound, and "good enough" visuals with super awesome sound, I'd choose the latter.) I advise all design companies that use lots of sound to hire one more sound designer, so that the load on them all is reduced enough so that they actually have the TIME to produce extra layers of awesome sound. (and they specifically have to be put to that task, because most don't even know what their max potential is yet)
Thinking Through The World's Problems - The world is just a puzzle, waiting for someone to solve it. My time is spent trying to find solutions to the world's problems - and a cure to ourselves - then trying to get those ideas out into the light.
Projects - If I had one of me for every project I want to do, we'd have our own race.

What I Don't
Thrust Myself Into Socializing - Formality is just too hilarious for me. However,
if you have something to talk about, I'd love to discuss
it.
Harm Others
- ...in any way, physically or mentally.
Watch TV
- The 4-cornered-surfaces that I look into I'm either in control of, or in some kind of harmony with.
Listen To Music With Lyrics
- I just can't concentrate when I hear lyrics (I'm a busyminded person), but I don't mind the occasional non-dark-willed song.
Like Money
- All I know about money is that we always need it,
rarely have enough, and are endlessly enslaved to working
for it, like animals. As much as the frail people of today need a motivator in order to build up our world, I see that this system cannot ever fully work for everyone, and if it isn't reinvented soon, more endless oceans of people (the BILLIONS that we all love to ignore), are going to go through life with grave, unfair deficiencies. Even for people in well-off countries, I believe money causes
9/10's of all our troubles (you really have to think deeply about this, to uncover all the ways that it causes/contributes to our day-to-day sufferings). Designing a system of collaboration is what
both of my
novels are about.
Put Tabasco Sauce
On My Salad
- ...so stop asking. |
